Urban Transport Group to act as Secretariat on independent Rail and Urban Transport Review
The Urban Transport Group will act as the Secretariat for a new independent Rail and Urban Transport Review, led by industry heavyweight Juergen Maier CBE.
The review, commissioned by the Labour Party, will examine how a future government could accelerate connectivity within and between the UK’s key urban areas, allowing cities to flourish and create economic prosperity.
The review will be led by an expert panel, who together will explore how transport infrastructure delivery can be better managed to boost jobs, improve value for money, and drive investment and economic growth across the country.
Jason Prince, Director of the Urban Transport Group, said:
“We are pleased to be able to lend secretarial and technical support to this important, independent review on how we improve connections between and within our city regions.”
As part of UTG’s role as Secretariat, the organisation will coordinate the evidence gathering process.
PLEASE NOTE: The deadline for submitting evidence has been extended until Friday 2 February 2024, and can be done so via this webpage.
