East Midlands Combined County Authority

East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) was established in February 2024 and brings together Derbyshire County Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Derby City Council and Nottingham City Council. It is the single public transport body for the East Midlands region.
EMCCA is led by a directly elected Mayor. Claire Ward was elected as the first Mayor of the East Midlands region in May 2024.
The devolution deal (agreed in November 2022) guarantees a funding stream of £1.14billion over a 30-year period, alongside additional investments for transport, housing and economic development.
- Areas served: The cities of Nottingham and Derby, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire
- Population served: 2.2 million
- Transport services: Developing a comprehensive strategic plan and investment programme to deliver improvements to local rail, buses, roads and active travel.
