As the Acting Executive Director of Public Transport for South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), Pat’s portfolio spans Transport Strategy, Transport Development and Transport Operations across all transport modes. Pat is currently heading up a number of important areas of development for SYMCA such as assessing bus franchising, the mobilisation programme to bring tram into public control and the development of the Local Transport Plan.

Pat joined SYMCA as Director of Transport Operations in May 2020 and she took on the position of Director of Public Transport Development in September 2021.

Prior to joining SYMCA, Pat worked at Northern Rail for 17 years, during which time she was involved in a range of developments, such as the Leeds to Nottingham rail service, Pacer Replacement and introduction of electric trains between Liverpool and Manchester.

Originally from The Netherlands, Pat graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business/Managerial Economics, obtained an Executive Leadership Certificate from Leeds Beckett University and is currently part of the Class of 2022/23 in the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School.
